As I wrote before in my article about the cabarets and shows of Paris, I’m a pretty boring person when it comes to nightlife. In my opinion, the best thing to do after dinner is to get into bed with a book. But since quite a few people have asked me about nightclubs in Paris, and I didn’t want to disappoint them, I reached out to a few party-loving friends who live in Paris. They told me about some clubs worth checking out while people like me are fast asleep.
So if you feel like celebrating at night in Paris, here are the recommended clubs in the city:
La Machine du Moulin Rouge
This club stands out especially for its atmosphere, with cheerful, festive decor and a varied playlist that includes hits from around the world along with French music. The dance floor is always packed, and even the drinks are reasonably priced. The staff has a reputation for being friendly and easygoing.

The venue is huge, spread across four levels, including a rooftop and all kinds of secret rooms.

La Station: Gare des Mines
This club is set in a 19th-century train station on the outskirts of Paris, which makes it a fairly unique spot. Sometimes there are live performances, sometimes a DJ and dancing, and sometimes all kinds of contemporary art events and bars with alcohol and more. It’s a 400-square-meter space, varied and full of interesting action.

Rex Club
The Grand Rex is a movie theater that opened in 1932 and became a cultural hub in Paris. Underneath it, for decades now, there has been a dance club that started out heavy on disco back in the 1970s. Today, Rex Club specializes in electronic and alternative music, mostly techno.

Sacré

This club is located in the 2nd arrondissement of Paris. It opened in 2019 in the former space of the Social Club, after an extensive renovation. There are two rooms, each with a completely different vibe: a disco bar for anyone who wants to drink, eat and enjoy house and funk music, and a dance floor that can hold a few hundred people, with a top-notch sound system, where you can dance to disco, house, techno and all kinds of other styles. Sacré also has a separate smoking room, for anyone who just can’t go without…

L’Arc
This is an upscale, exclusive club located near the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. The club leads the French hip-hop scene, and it’s not just a dance club, but also a bar and restaurant, with a VIP area for anyone who wants it. The dance floor is paved in marble, and unsurprisingly, you’ll find plenty of celebrities here.
The design is lavish and elegant. During the summer months, an additional terrace opens up, and there’s also a happy hour.

Le Duplex
At the foot of the Arc de Triomphe sits Le Duplex, a particularly popular nightclub in Paris. It opens late, at 11:00 p.m. every day, which makes it especially well-suited for night owls. The music is varied and the atmosphere is pleasant without being too wild.

On weekends, there are three separate areas in the club, each with a different style of music. On the club’s website, you can take a 360-degree tour to check out the venue and its cool design.
