Who among us doesn’t have a sweet (or traumatic, depending on who you ask) memory of sprinting across the park early in the morning just to grab a little paper “Fast Pass” ticket from a yellow machine? You stood in line to avoid standing in line, planned your whole day around a scrap of paper, and prayed you wouldn’t lose it on the way to the roller coaster. Well, friends, those days are gone.
In an age when our smartphone is also our boarding pass, our wallet and our camera, it was only a matter of time before Disney’s line magic got a digital makeover. Say hello to Disney Premier Access, the new, sophisticated (and, of course, paid) system that lets you skip the long lines in the park.
So before you plan your next visit to Disneyland Paris, I put together the most comprehensive guide I could to clear things up: what’s the difference between the tracks, how much will it really cost you, how do you use the app, and when (if ever) is it worth opening your wallet. Let’s get started!
What is Disney Premier Access? It’s a paid digital service at Disneyland Paris (replacing the old Fast Pass) that lets visitors skip the regular lines at the most popular attractions by purchasing a specific QR code through the app.
Goodbye Fast Pass, hello Disney Premier Access
Plenty of people still search for the old term “Fast Pass” online, but it’s important to understand that the old, free system has been completely discontinued. In its place, Disneyland Paris launched a premium digital service that offers more flexibility, but comes at a price.
Disney’s goal is clear: let visitors who are short on time (or whose patience ran out after two hours in line with a kid who urgently needs a bathroom) pay for quick access to the most popular attractions. The service splits into two main tracks, and that’s exactly where your strategic planning begins.
Track 1: Disney Premier Access One, one attraction at a time
This track is essentially an a-la-carte system. You pay only for the specific attraction where you want to skip the line.
How does it work?
You walk into the park and see that the line for Crush’s Coaster is 90 minutes, and your heart sinks? You open the app, buy quick access for that specific attraction, get a specific time window, and go in almost immediately through the fast lane. This right is valid only once per attraction.
How much does it cost?
The price is dynamic and ranges from 5 to 18 euros per person, per attraction.
The price varies based on two factors:
- Time of year: prices climb to the top of the range during peak August or the Christmas holidays.
- Popularity of the attraction: highly in-demand rides, like Crush’s Coaster at the Studios park or Peter Pan’s Flight at the main park, will always cost more than older or calmer rides.
When is it worth it? When you’re visiting on a relatively quiet day, you’ve managed to do almost everything, and there’s just one or two attractions left that you don’t feel like burning an hour and a half on.
Track 2: Disney Premier Access Ultimate, the ultimate VIP experience
If you’ve only got one day in Paris, the park is packed to the brim, and your goal is to “conquer” all the flagship attractions without wasting a minute, this track was made for you.
Ultimate is a premium pass that lets you skip the line once at each of the main attractions included in the program (we’re talking about 12 to 14 of the best rides across both parks).
The huge advantage: unlike the One track, here you don’t need to chain together time windows or depend on app availability at that exact moment. You just show up at the ride, scan your QR code, and walk in. Total freedom.
How much does it cost?
Brace yourself: the price ranges from 120 to 180 euros per person, per day (depending, of course, on the tourist season). Keep in mind this cost is on top of the regular park admission ticket.
When is it worth it? For families willing to invest in maximizing a single day in the park, or for travelers who want to feel (almost) like celebrities and aren’t willing to compromise on standing in line, no matter what.
The technical guide: how do you actually use this magic?
Going digital requires a bit of prep in advance. Don’t leave it for the last 90 minutes (or for the spotty Wi-Fi in the ticket line). Here’s what you need to do, step by step:
- Download the official app: before your flight, download the Disneyland Paris app on your smartphone. Create a Disney account (or log in if you already have one from their streaming service).
- Link your admission tickets: enter or scan the park tickets of everyone in your family or group who wants to ride together. It’s important to link everyone to one account, so you can buy a fast pass for the whole group for the same time window.
- Payment method: enter your credit card details in the app ahead of time to save yourself time when it matters.
- Purchase and scan: on the day of your visit itself (and only after you’ve physically entered the park, for the One track), open the Premier Access tab in the app, pick the attraction and time. The app will generate a QR code for you to scan at the special entrance to the ride.
What if we’re not comfortable with smartphones? (Or the battery died)
No worries, Disney thought of that too. If you prefer the old-school method of talking to actual human beings, or your phone decided to give up the ghost right as Captain Hook passed by, you can buy Premier Access in person:
- At the main Disneyland Park: go to the City Hall counter right at the entrance to the park (on the town square).
- At Walt Disney Studios Park: go to the Studio Services counter at the entrance.
The friendly staff (who always smile, because it’s in their contract) will be happy to help you purchase the passes and print you a physical voucher.
The million-dollar club: a private VIP tour of Disneyland Paris
If the Ultimate track isn’t exclusive enough for you, and you really want to experience the park like a movie star (or you just won the lottery recently, in which case, hello, my new friends!), there’s one more option: a private VIP tour.
This means a dedicated guide who accompanies you around the park and gives you nearly unlimited access to all the attractions, with no lines at all, and sometimes even secret backstage entrances and reserved spots at the parades and nighttime shows.
The experience costs around 399 euros per hour (with a minimum commitment of two and a half hours), and the group can include up to 10 people. If you’re a large group of friends or extended family splitting the cost, it might be less far-fetched than it sounds, and the experience, I have to admit, is simply unforgettable.
Strategy for savvy travelers: 5 pro tips
So you don’t waste your money for nothing, here are a few golden rules for using the system right:
- Arrive early (Extra Magic Time): if you’re staying at one of the Disney hotels (you can read about them in detail in the hotel guide on the site), you get to enter the park an hour before everyone else. Use that hour for the most popular attractions, and you might save yourself a Premier Access purchase later in the day.
- Don’t buy Ultimate in advance without checking the wait times first: if you’re visiting midweek during cold November, odds are the lines will be perfectly reasonable (20 to 30 minutes). It would be a shame to spend hundreds of euros in advance. Check the wait times in the app in the morning, and decide in real time.
- Prioritize smartly (Crush’s Coaster first): Crush’s Coaster is the undisputed “queen of the lines” at Disneyland Paris. The wait for it can reach 120 minutes or more in almost any season. If there’s one ride worth splurging on with Premier Access One, it’s this one. Next on the list: Peter Pan’s Flight and Big Thunder Mountain.
- Split up with Single Rider: many rides offer a “Single Rider” line. If you don’t mind sitting next to strangers and experiencing the ride solo, this line is usually significantly shorter than the regular one, and it’s completely free!
- Wi-Fi and power banks: the park has Wi-Fi coverage, but on busy days it can get spotty. Make sure you have a data plan available and a portable battery (power bank). Continuous use of the Disney app will drain your battery faster than you’d think.
Bottom line: is the magic worth the money?
At the end of the day, your vacation time is worth money. Disney Premier Access is a fantastic tool for anyone who wants to make the most of their day in the park without wearing themselves out in endless lines. Is it a must? Not at all. With the right planning, an early start, and smart use of Single Rider lines, you can enjoy Disneyland Paris without spending a single extra euro beyond the admission ticket. But if you have some budget to spare and want to treat yourself to a smooth, stress-free, adrenaline-filled day, it’s definitely an investment that pays off in the kids’ smiles (and yours).

Frequently asked questions (FAQ) about skipping lines and tickets
Does Fast Pass still exist at Disneyland Paris?
No, the old free Fast Pass service has been completely discontinued. In its place, Disneyland Paris now offers a paid service called Disney Premier Access that lets you skip lines and save significant time.
How much does Disney Premier Access cost?
The price varies: the ‘One’ track for a single attraction usually ranges from 5 to 19 euros per person, per ride. The ‘Ultimate’ track, which gives access to all the flagship attractions, ranges from 120 to 180 euros per person, per day, depending on the season and demand, of course.
How do you use Disney Premier Access?
It’s as simple as it gets: download the official Disneyland Paris app in advance, link your park admission tickets to it, and buy your fast pass through it. The app will give you a QR code, which you simply scan at the special entrance to the ride.
Is Premier Access really worth it?
In my experience, it’s usually better to buy individual access through the app (One) on the day of your visit, as needed, rather than rushing to buy the expensive day pass (Ultimate) in advance. Just keep an eye on the wait times in the app in real time and decide when it’s worth opening your wallet and when it simply isn’t necessary.
Can you still buy tickets at the park box office on the day you arrive?
Definitely not recommended! Buying tickets online in advance is both significantly cheaper and guarantees you entry in cases when the park reaches full capacity. These days, the on-site ticket counters are mainly meant for people paying cash or holding vouchers, and the penalty for using them shows up in a price that’s dozens of euros higher than what you’d pay online.
